2001 Primera Sound Proofing Part 1

Sound Proofing the boot:

I had the great idea of using rubber gloves so I don't get crud all over my hands, it turns out the gloves stick so well to it that there are now 4 finger tips of glove in the deadening somewhere.

This was the first layer of flashing tape over the high noise areas, e.g. wheel arches and tire well

I also applied plenty to the inside skin of the back quarter as those panels had a lot of resonance.

This is two lawyers deep now on most of it, and I also covered all the edges of the applied flashing tape with an aluminum tape,
to stop it sticking to other things and panels and also to help it stay in place longer and hold better.

I got a 20mm sheet of close cell foam and put that in the bottom of the tire well to help there as well.

then under all panels, and seats I put a layer of 11mm carpet underlay, as an extra level of sound deadening.

And great news, it makes a BIG difference, and all the panels go back together looking like just before i started.
