The computer:
I already had the computer built, so just had to remove it from my old car and connect it all up again.
I decided to remove the wifi pci card and antenna as you can see in the picture, and use a USB wifi adapter this time.
The computer itself is located under the passenger seat, with a few "additions" to help it stay there
Intel D945GCLF2 Dual-Core Atom board
250GB sata 2.5" seagate HD
1Gb kingston DDR2 ram
USB wifi
USB GPS receiver
genius-pc GP83 160W PSU
morex caseThe power supply is a "semi smart" one, and has a hard off mode where it uses no power, which is good for starting the car after a long w/e of no use.
I ordered one of these off ebay, USB in and 2V line level / headphone output.
I decided that the computer's audio output was to low in level, and could have sounde better, and was happy with this little box.
lots of room to run cables, yes I ran video, power and audio cables together, and no issues, its tidy and works well.
the white power switch, from a house light switch gives me an overall kill for the computers power.
I am still undecided if i want the computer to start power up automatically when i unlock the car or turn the key, its a pain if you are just moving it into the garage waiting for it to boot then shut down.
this is a test fit with the 8" touch screen in the dash, so far it all fits, and it runs.
